TGF: Project GreenmanA growing community

Project Greenman is first and foremost an educational imagination opportunity. The missions have been selected to inspire and provide real-world geographical, botanical and environmental reference points, but The Garden Foundation relies on the input of educational professionals to craft strategies to tie it all together.  We are always seeking contact persons and educators interested in developing activity plans or heading agent groups (pods) at a local level.

Teachers will benefit from reference materials on plant growth and identification, a ready tie-in for geographic reference exploring mission locations and the promise of "Green Lab" classroom activities developed by our corporate sponsors. As responsible educators, we want to teach the youth (hands-on) about how plants improve our environment and what each of us can do to make it happen. Long-term, we see organized agent volunteerism in community-greening and "plant a row" style projects.  TGF sees the value of inter-generational gardening and the rich harvest of experience it can yield. We realize that even the best projects are only as strong as those involved and so  we'd like to hear from you!
